Power outages during extreme weather can create cascading risks—loss of heating/cooling, communications, refrigeration, and medical device power. This action identifies areas most vulnerable to outages and partners with Eversource to evaluate solutions such as targeted undergrounding, improved vegetation management, and other grid-hardening measures. The goal is to reduce outage frequency and duration, especially where vulnerable residents live or where critical services depend on electricity. Success looks like mapped priority outage zones, an agreed set of utility and Town actions, implementation of targeted reliability improvements, and improved outcomes during major storms.
